Is midlife is about self-actualization and
growth?
Before midlife you seem to be just part of
the crowd doing whatever is current and necessary to work, eat
and survive on automatic pilot.
Then you come to midlife and say, “Hey,
wait a minute, there must be more to life than this.”
Then the questions start rolling.
Who am I?
What am I doing here?
Where am I going?
The more technical the world gets, and the
more disconnected from others or from nature you get, the more
your focus has to turn to the Self and ask what your purpose
here is.
There is a need for discovering the Self,
the Spirit within the Self and the movement toward wholeness.
Who am I without outside influences?
There is a new phase beginning in your
life, a reality check of self –discovery. What are the triggers
that open you up to this change of flow from outer to inner? Is
it a change in direction to reset your goals in life or is it
time to step up your goals and the meaning behind your goals,
the why’s and wherefores of it all?
Once the goal is determined, change can
begin with determination, resolve, and discipline. The
Transformation can begin.
From this point forward the conscious mind
needs to move over and allow the secret desires, goals and
dreams that were buried or put on hold the space to come to the
forefront. Once excavated, these previously buried desires can
fill the void. Now the newly excavated information can come to
the conscious mind to take up residence with the new goals, the
new ideas and the new priorities in life, waiting for
manifestation.
Now is the time for conscious growth.
Replace the broken record in your mind with new ideas,
information, and goals for moving forward in life. You need to
see movement or stagnation sets in and submits to relentless
routine with no room for renewal of energy that allows you to
come alive again with the enthusiasm of a fresh start and a
spring in your step, an empty canvas awaiting the fresh strokes
of creative new juices flowing.
It is a sign of our times that the canvas
gets filled with material things, like cars, houses, clothes,
appliances that are bigger and better that the neighbor’s. What
is actually required is renewing the spirit.
Re-new
Re-formulate
Re-create
The new cars, house, condos or exotic trips
cannot recreate the Self. It can only cover up the symptoms
calling for your attention. This cover up leads to the need for
recovery. Recovering the emotional losses and recouping the
debilitating loss of money in the process. You have more stuff,
less money and the same old routine. Was there any inner
satisfaction obtained or is the search and drive still calling?
Has the true, authentic self been satisfied by the realization
of reaching your full potential in a spiritual,
self-actualization that provides the means and the continuous
flow of energy to renew its self? The more it gives, the more
it receives in return. However, this can only work with a full
cup that overflows, not an empty cup that has no energy left for
renewal and lasting fulfillment.
Change your perceptions and make your
dreams grow. The more you resist change, the more you spin out
of control in the chaos. Go through the change, don’t be afraid
of it. Regenerate.
Make conscious choices. This is a process
of really growing into a maturity that you have yet to realize.
The SECRET is within you. Not outside of
you. You need an outside view of your inner vision. Create a
vision board or mandala. Use these as generators. A vision
board is a square canvas or poster board with four corners like
a container. A mandala is a never ending continuous circle full
of flow and movement that continually revolves and evolves in a
cyclical fashion.
Accept your Self in its entirety. Midlife
can then become the most exciting time of all, with all of its
potential. You have the power to choose.
